In many countries religion is also a part of the culture. You will have to show respect and be aware of rules that apply for that particular country. Since Egypt is a Muslim country you should show respect by not wearing clothes that are to demanding. Clothes made of cotton are recommended because of the heat, at night a light jacket or jumper will do.

» Currency
It is recommended to bring US dollar or Euro dollar. One Egyptian pound is about 1.20SEK. You can convert to Egyptian Pound, Us-dollar or Euro-dollar at the airport in Sweden (Forex). We recommend that you keep change for tipping purposes. Credit cards such as MasterCard and VISA are accepted at hotels, large shopping centres and on cruises. There are banks and ATM's available.
» Tip
You are excepted to leave a tip every here and there. A waiter, bathroom staff e.g. may ask you for a tip. It is important not to give too much or to little.
» Vaccinations
Ask your doctor if you need to get a vaccination before travelling.
» Medication
If you need any kind of medication make sure you bring enough to last you the whole you are away. Also ensure that your medicine is not illegal in the country you are travelling to. In some countries sleeping pills are a classified as narcotic drug. You may have to obtain a certificate from your doctor.
» Food and drinks
The food is very nice and alos very cheap. Beverages such as bear, bottled water and soft drinks are usually served with the meal. You can in some places order win.
Always drink bottled water/ mineral water. Never drink water from the tap (although you can brush your teeth in tap water).
» Sunscreen
Be careful in the sun. Egypt is near the equator and Cairo is surrounded by the Sahara desert, too many hours in the sun can make you dehydrated. A hat is recommended, especially in the desert.
» Shopping
In Egypt you are aloud to barging wherever you go.
» Insurance
Make sure you have full coverage from your insurance company. You can apply for separate travel insurance if you are not covered.
» Tickets
You will be provided with your airline ticket at the airport. Once the ticket has been delivered to you, you have full responsibility for it; Make sure you keep it with you during the whole trip as well as during transit and on the way back home.
» Payments
Use your booking number when paying through Post giro or your Internet bank.
» Luggage
You are aloud to carry 20kg in your luggage and 5kg in your handbag.

220 volt.
» Temperature
When visiting the Pyramids you are recommended to wear a hat. Night time a light jacket or jumper will keep you warm. We are going to walk around a lot so wear comfortable shoes.
